In blog terms, the readers need to know if the blogger is making money by sharing a link or product.

What are affiliate links?
Purchases are made on external affiliate company websites: When a reader clicks on an affiliate link located on .com to purchase an item, the reader buys the item from the seller directly (not from MYBANNERSEASON.COM). Amazon and/or other companies pay MYBANNERSEASON.COM a small commission or other compensation for promoting their website or products through their affiliate program.
Prices are exactly the same for you if your purchase is through an affiliate link or a non-affiliate link. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link.
I use two main types of affiliate programs:
1. Amazon affiliate links.
YOURWEBSITE.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties including, but not limited to, amazon.com. Amazon offers a small commission on products sold through their affiliate links.
If a blogger links to an Amazon product (with a special code for affiliates embedded in the link), and a reader places an item in their “shopping cart” through that link within 24 hours of clicking the link, the blogger gets a small percentage of the sale. Amazon links are not “pay per click.” If you click on the product link and stay around Amazon and purchase something else, however, I will get commission on that sale.
Anytime you see a link that looks like astore.com/… or amazon.com… it can be assumed that it is an Amazon affiliate link.
2. Product affiliate links.
These affiliate links work the same way: if you click the link and buy the product, then the blogger gets a percentage of the sale or some other type of compensation. Things like e-book bundles, e-courses, and online packages are usually affiliate links, as well. Again, prices are not different if you use these affiliate links. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link. These links are not “pay per click”, unless otherwise denoted.
What about sponsored content?
I do not write sponsored posts. I want to bring you real, unbiased information. However, if a post is sponsored by a company and it is a paid sponsorship, I will disclose this clearly in the beginning of the post.

Maybe more than you want to know, but this is who we are.
We met a long time ago! We met in college at Garrett Community College in McHenry, MD. We suppose it was love at first site. We dated throughout our freshmen and sophomore years and tied the knot on May 8, 1976! We jokingly say that we were young and dumb. LOL! Maybe you can relate.
A major part of our life together centered around basketball. When we met in college, Michael was a basketball player and played throughout his college days. After college, he coached middle school, high school and college basketball. He had a pretty good career, averaging 20 pt./game and over 11 rebounds.
While basketball was important, it wasn’t the most important part. That will be explained as you read down through this page.
After graduating from college, (Frostburg State University), I taught physical education in central West Virginia and then just outside of Washington, D.C. I loved teaching physical education.
Fayann was a homemaker; and much more than that. Yes, she took care of the house. Yes, she paid all the bills. But the most important part of who she was… raising our children.
For us, Fayann being a stay-at-home mom was very important. We believe her staying at home shaped the lives of our children, and consequently, our grandchildren is a very positive way.
If we had to do it all over again, we couldn’t change a thing.
For most of his career in education, Michael was a school principal. He loved the challenge that came with the job. He covered all grade levels; elementary through high school. Could you imagine. Michael retired in November, 2021.
You need to know, we are Christians. We both accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1979. He is the center of our lives (as well as our families). Michael became a pastor in 2014. He loves serving the Lord by sharing the Good News about salvation through Jesus Christ.
Our family is our life. We have been tremendously blessed. We have 2 children who now have children of their own. I guess that makes us grandparents. They call Fayann “Nanny,” Michael “Pappy.” We love it!
We have lived a blessed life. Sometimes life throws you a curveball when you are looking for a fastball. None of us are exempt. Neither are we. In August 2019, Fayann suffered a massive stroke and in February 2023, another one. Both came totally unexpected but we were ready because of our faith. She has worked extremely hard at recovery; continues to do so.
She had a choice. She could quit or press on. She is pressing on!
